Hello From Livingstone
It’s been a couple months since we left our home in Frederick, Maryland, to take up a 3-month stay in Livingstone, Zambia. With a slower pace of life here, we’ve taken the opportunity to enter the 21st century and start a family blog to share a few images and thoughts from our life here, and beyond. Other than missing our family and friends, living in Zambia has been a wonderful experience. With many new adventures, a slower pace of life, and essentially a non-existent social life. This has lead to quiet evenings and weekends with more family time, more time to read and talk, and follow the phases of the moon under the beautiful African night time sky. Livingstone, the ‘Adventure Capitol of Southern Africa’, is an interesting town and a pleasant place to live for a few months. It’s a bustling hub of tourists who’ve come to visit one of the natural wonders of the world, Victoria Falls. Livingstone is an eclectic mix of people and activity where modern Africa, with all its trappings of an emerging middle class and the global economy, meet traditional Africa with its simple beauty and stark challenges. We look forward to catching up and seeing all our family and friends very soon. But until then here’s a few pictures and thoughts from us in Livingstone.
